After reaching one of his greatest goals and the huge amount of work involved in transcribing and adapting the masterpiece by Isaac Albéniz, “Suite Iberia” for two guitars by CAÑIZARES, “ORIGEN FLAMENCO” is a retrospective look at his flamenco musical origins.

From a mature and profound perspective of his musical origins, CAÑIZARES has re-adapted and recreated much of his work with the flamenco guitar as the protagonist. To obtain the intimacy which enhances his flamenco music, for this new show CAÑIZARES decided against a large group of instruments. Instead, to attain the desired effect, he has created a show with the smallest possible number of elements, specifically another guitar, percussion and, in some compositions, flamenco dancing.

CAÑIZARES is unquestionably one of the most important examples today of how rich flamenco guitar can be. Now at his golden age, he shows an enormous creative personality and the musical sensitivity of a performer who really feels his flamenco origins.
